The second Activision title to be set in Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear universe, Heavy Gear II is a first-person mech simulation game in which players command large bipedal war machines known as Gears. Unlike its predecessor, Heavy Gear II uses a new graphics engine, known as Dark Side.
